It looks like movie lovers would not have a boring independence day after all. Peter Sedufia’s much anticipated film “Aloevera” is set for premiere on 6th March at the Silverbird Cinemas.
“Aloevera” films a lovely community that got divided over conflict that emerged upon disagreement on chicken and egg. The story addresses how different people with diverse cultures coexist in a community. There was a twist when the two disagreeing cultures had to live the fact that their member is in love with another from the other side. Could love reconcile these people?
It stars the industry’s finest Adjetey Anan, Nana Ama McBrown, Yaw Dabo, Kalybos, Naa Ashorkor Duku Mensah, Kofi Adjorlolo, Aaron Adatsi, Rhoda Ampene, Alexandra Ayirebi-Acquah, Solomon Fixon-Owoo, Zynell Zuh and Dulcie Tetteh.
The award winning director, Peter Sedufia shared this during the production of the “Aloevera”,
“IT’S A WRAP FOR #ALOEVERA!!! Making this film has been an emotional journey for me. It all started with so much excitement in creating a community for a dream film. After 4 to 5 visits by the BBC, a visit by the Forbes, and another visit by the 33 & Me team from Mexico/Switzerland, we were sure it was a good start for us. The plan was to film for 12 days and have 3 days clear for footage review, shot pick-ups and packing to leave. But, that didn’t go as planned. From the very first day, we shouted “Action”, the rains also responded.”
Each day, our expenses for accommodation, welfare and transport, as well as rented equipment, props and other logistics kept increasing as we tried to make up for the lost days. At this point, we’ve started running into deficits.
Then, I told my wife, my producer and my PM and a few casts that I want to call the shoot-off. I wanted to put it on hold, go look for money and come finish up… TO BE CONTINUED…”
The premiere comes off at Silverbird Cinemas in Accra Mall and West Hills Mall. Premier times are 5pm, 7pm and 9pm.
