Manchester United skipper Harry Maguire has admitted that he had a contact on Michy Batshuayi during Chelsea clash on Monday night.
The England international and Batshuayi were racing down a long pass in the Man United’s half, upon falling at the sideline, he set his right foot high enough to get on Batshuayi pen*s.
Upon hitting the Belgian, the 26-year-old was not shown at least a yellow card for the action, even VAR reviewed it as no violence in the act.
He [Harry Maguire] went on to punish Chelsea after scoring United’s second goal with a fine header.
After leading his side to victory at Stamford Bridge, Maguire explained why he was not booked for the challenge.
“I know I caught him [Batshuayi] and I felt he was going to fall on me and my natural reaction was to straighten my leg to stop him,” Maguire told Sky Sports.
“It wasn’t a kick out and there was no intent. I think it’s the right decision.”
