American hip-hop legend, Lil Wayne, is set to drop his much anticipated studio album by the end of this year.
According to reliable sources, Weezy made this affirmation on New Orleans radio station Q93. In the interview, the YMCM rapper proudly confirmed that his long-awaited “Funeral” project is on the way.
“I’m not sure. I wouldn’t count it out but the Funeral is my next album,” Wayne told the host when asked if we would ever get Tha Carter VI. “Imma be dropping that by the end of the year.”
He then gave an update on where he’s at with the album’s completion.
“Wayne, you know how I work. My album’s always done; it just takes Mack [Maine] to come in there and wrap up a couple of songs and name them,” Tunechi said. “That’s how it goes around here. I work every day, so, it just takes them to come in and say, ‘Let me get these 20 songs. Can I have these?’ and they name them and then we go from there.”
Weezy first revealed plans for the Funeral album way back in 2016 during an interview on The Nine Club podcast, though he didn’t give many details.
Upon release, the album will be Lil Wayne’s thirteenth studio album and his first full album since the Cater V album late last year.
