The Angolan businesswoman Isabel dos Santos who also hold the title as Africa’s richest woman has had several of her offshore accounts in Portugal at the request of the authorities in Angola.
Ms. Dos Santos has been accused of enriching herself through corrupt deals when her father, José Eduardo dos Santos, was Angola’s president.
She has also been accused of embezzling money from Angola’s state oil company Sonangol by Angolan prosecutors – and is also accused of a variety of tax offenses.
The 46-year-old however firmly denies the accusations calling them a politically motivated witch hunt.
Earlier this year, a banker who was fingered in adding Isabel dos Santos was found dead. He was in charge of managing the account of oil firm Sonangol at the small Portuguese lender EuroBic.
