It happens that celebrated broadcast journalist, Jay Folley, has got some pundits reacting to his “Heartless tweet” on the Daybreak Hitz show. Some pundits on the show, earlier today gave a divisive reaction to the tweet not giving full support to his tweet about this open secret.

The tweet, “Big artistes who don’t feature up and coming artiste are heartless” was the first story to be discussed on the show. However, Dave and AJ one of the regular pundits on the show, seemed to have varying ideas and not totally siding with the famous T.V presenter.

Dave, who earlier spoke opined that artists didn’t just get to the top in a vacuum. Thus there is a sort of chain, and it is also a social responsibility for big artists. “I agree with what he is saying.. Yes it is a problem. The music industry is like a conveyor belt. The artistes come and they go. There is a lot of talent that is waiting to be exposed, but it doesn’t mean you should feature everybody… because you can’t just allow anybody to feature,  but certainly as a successful artiste, once you’ve become a top artiste, it’s your responsibility to support them”.

On the other hand, AJ, seemed to share the stands of Jay but not fully agree with Dave, her colleague. In her comments she was of the view that she doesn’t totally agree with David. In agreement with David, she stressed that it is good, once you are up there, you must give the up and coming a helping hand. On the other hand, she was of the view that even if they are not going to show gratitude once you were helped by someone, as a top artiste, you must also support them once the talent is there.

Interestingly, Fiifi was also in the middle supporting Dave half way and throwing weight behind AJ’s comment.

This indeed a big topic at that, however, as the reader, what are your views. Do you think Jay Foley is right for making that tweet?
